IN 1999, Fremantle had the second and fourth choices in the national draft. At No. 2, the Dockers picked a small but strong-bodied midfielder, who moved immediately into the midfield, averaged more than 20 possessions a game, kicked 15 goals and won the Rising Star award. At No. 4, they named a taller boy, who played 18 games in his debut season and looked good too, without making as big a splash.
